Program Intended For:

  • Residents of Hope and Area who are unemployed or under-employed
  • Please Note: Must be eligible to work in Canada

Goals & Objectives:

  • Provide support, encouragement and guidance for unemployed and underemployed workers to gain employment

Program Benefits:

  • Increase probability to find a great job, quicker
  • Improve job searching techniques
  • Find out why current approach not working
  • Get better noticed
  • Become more confident in interviews
  • Just have someone to talk to, and offer little advice, can really help when things are not going great with a job search

Program Features:

  • Needs Assessment
    Will determine barriers to help you consider approaches to return to employment.

  • Employment Advising
    Helps maintain a momentum in job searching activities while providing ongoing, personal support. This will include:

    • One-on-one support for specific job searching tasks
    • Networking advice, business references and check-ins
    • Resume consultation and preparation
    • Interview preparation
    • Follow-up

  • Employment Counselling
    One-on-one appointments will be scheduled to provide support to clearly determine barriers to employment, personal assessment, goal development and job search techniques.

  • Case Management
    Referrals can be made to Training Funds, Targeted Wage Subsidy or Self Employment programs.

  • Employment Group Services
    Assistance is available for job search skills, job maintenance skills and career decision making.

  • Outreach Services
    A variety of outreach services are available at the centre. Services to people receiving income assistance, First Nations, youth, and those living with disabilities.

  • Job Developer
    Will connect with employers to seek ways to assisting them to engage clients dealing with employment challenges.

  • Telephone Answering System
    15 voice mailboxes are available so clients can manage their own communications with employers and others. These mailboxes are monitored by staff to ensure appropriate utilization.
